Collaborative Bodies

The International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS), was formed in 1979 and organized as an educational public charity known as a 501(c)3 not for profit in the United States. The IAS Headquarters, now in Washington, DC, has grown into an organization representing 68 national organizations that are active in 57 countries and retains its position as an active member of the World Heart Federation (WHF).

EAS was founded in 1964 as a forum for researchers to share ideas about atherosclerosis research, and for many years held successful scientific meetings throughout Europe.

Since 2007, driven by the spirit of scientific enquiry and exchange, the Society has built up  a portfolio of activities to serve the needs of our members and the scientific community.
